Description
The National Safety Council's Defensive Driving program offers practical strategies to reduce collision-related injuries and fatalities. Offered locally through the Safety & Health Council of Northern New England, this course has set the standard in the industry for over 40 years, and continues to improve driver behaviors.
Benefits of attending include:
- Attendees from New Hampshire and Maine receive 3 points reduction after completing the classroom course (Vermont does not have a point reduction program). Points are not removed from the driving record, but credited towards loss of license. Points are removed by the state after 3 years.
- Certificates are mailed to attendees within 5 business days upon successful completion of the course. Pre-payment for the course is required.
- Many insurance companies offer a reduction in their automobile insurance rate upon successful completion of this course. (Contact your insurance company to find out if this is an option.)
